The Team

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful

committed citizens can change the world:

indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

The Team

Our greatest success will come from working as a TEAM. This is especially important since this is a new program. My vision is that we share--share everything! If one of you is a good writer and whips up a great press release, then please share it with the other Advocates. If another one of you has made up a form that makes things easier for you, then share it too! Making this a team effort will unify us and make us stronger and more effective in our individual efforts. Together we can do incredible things! Your success is my success and vice versa. As the Advocate Program grows, our company will grow--and as the company grows, we will be able to offer incentives such as vacations and who knows...maybe even vehicles! But, we have to work TOGETHER!

Why Recruiting is Important

Recruiting new Advocates to your team is probably the most important (and most profitable) thing that you can do--especially at this level. Remember, you get a percentage of all of your recruits sales, and their recruit's sales and so on! One exciting thing about our program (unlike an other), is you can recruit businesses and/or individuals! This makes your opportunities endless!

Who Do I Recruit?

Start by targeting who you think would be the most beneficial to you and your team. Here are a few suggestions and the reasons why I chose them:

Friends and Family

If you are passionate about diversity, you already have either a diverse family or diverse group of friends. This is a great place to start. Get with your friends and family and get referrals. Referrals are a major part of your business--everyone can give you at least 3 potentially interested people. Don't be afraid to ask! Because our products and resources are so hard to find, people will welcome the opportunity to talk to you!

Child Advocacy Groups (non-profits)

Contact local groups, such as: Head Start, CASA, Child Welfare League, Early Childhood Association, Department of Human Services, etc. (this list could be huge). Find the Director of these local chapters. Many of these groups have annual conferences (as well as a national conference and several training sessions) and can purchase booth space at a minimal cost. For the for-profit company (us) the fees can be hundreds of dollars. Often times area chapters can have booths and sell items to help fund their local chapter. These make AWESOME recruits because they benefit, the organization benefits and if you recruited her...YOU benefit!

Principals

A principal may want to join and have his/her school reap the benefits of the discount while they reap the benefits of recruiting others. They would receive their discounts (for the school) and diversity would be a forethought and not an afterthought for their entire school. He/She could set-up products for the teachers, at PTO meetings, open house, etc. They could share with other principals and other school officials. Ultimately, the children would be the greatest benefactors but the principal could also profit financially.

Teachers

A teacher may want to join because it's his/her passion and they could raise extra money promoting something they believe in and at the same time, purchase items for their classroom at a discount and still make extra money recruiting other advocates. Teachers would be great because they have personal connections with the principal and student's parents. Maybe they would want to organize a penny fundraiser for their school to purchase new artwork with the proceeds (a principal may be interested in this too). Or, maybe they have a Chinese student in the class whose parents adopted them from China and they have discussed the importance of celebrating diversity. They may want to share the business with them and they in-turn share the business with their playgroup or adoption agency...all while you reap the benefit of an awesome recruit!

PTO/PTA President

The PTO/PTA President may want some extra money and she has awesome connections with the principal, teachers parents and school functions.
